Kalisto Facts

He was billed from Berwyn, Illinois.

Kalisto is a 2nd-generation Mexican-American.

The first few years of his life were spent in Mexico City, Mexico.

Kalisto was raised in a family of Mexican professional wrestling fans. He also owned several Tinieblas’ and Octagón replica masks.

He and his family moved to Chicago in the mid-90s. After relocating to the United States, Kalisto enjoyed watching the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

Kalisto credits professional wrestlers Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, and Sabu as his inspirations.

Some of the sports that he took an interest in while growing up are gymnastics, taekwondo, jujutsu, amateur wrestling, and American football.

In the year 2013, Kalisto made his debut in the WWE with the NXT brand.

From 2014 to 2016, Kalisto partnered with professional wrestler Sin Cara to form the professional wrestling tag-team called “The Lucha Dragons”.
